Our Travel Plans prioritise walking, cycling and public transport, setting out practical measures that reflect site accessibility and how developments will operate in practice.
Where necessary, measures are supported by clear and achievable targets and monitoring arrangements, helping to demonstrate how sustainable travel choices will be encouraged over time.
We take a pragmatic approach to Travel Planning, recognising the importance of site context, viability and long-term management. Rather than adopting a standardised template, our Travel Plans respond to local conditions, policy expectations and the needs of future occupiers, ensuring they remain relevant, effective and deliverable.
We also provide Travel Plan Coordinator services to support implementation after planning consent is granted – see our Travel Plan Coordinator Services page for more. This includes overseeing monitoring, reporting outcomes to local authorities and reviewing measures over time to ensure Travel Plans remain effective and compliant throughout their lifespan.
Our client needed to demolish an existing teaching block and construct a new two-storey teaching facility in its place at a sixth form college in Cardiff.
Apex prepared a Transport Statement to support the demolition and construction. This included a Travel Plan, detailed analysis of the parking provision and a parking survey, to consider the potential impacts of the extension, particularly at school drop off and pick up times.
