About Sophie Donkin

Sophie is a Consultant at Apex Transport Planning, supporting the delivery of transport planning advice across a broad range of development projects.

She joined Apex in 2022 after graduating from Cardiff University and has a degree in Urban Planning and Development, as well as an MSc in Transport and Planning.

Sophie contributes to projects from early feasibility through to planning submission and technical support stages. Her role includes the preparation of swept path analysis, access design input, active travel audits, road safety reviews and traffic survey analysis, alongside supporting the production of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and associated technical notes.

I enjoy the flexibility offered by Apex to develop my career in transport planning, while delivering high quality work for our clients.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through running and the gym. I also like meeting new people, both within and beyond the industry, and exploring new places through travel.

She has a strong interest in sustainable transport and active travel, and regularly supports assessments focused on walking, cycling and public transport accessibility.

Sophie also brings experience in accessibility mapping and the interpretation of transport policy and guidance, helping ensure technical work is clear, policy-led and proportionate.

Sophie brings a personable and friendly approach to her work, which clients value, supporting the team in delivering clear, high-quality transport advice that is aligned with planning expectations.
