About Eliot King

Eliot is a Technical Director at Apex Transport Planning with over 18 years’ experience providing transport planning advice across both public and private sector projects.

He combines strong technical expertise with a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach, helping ensure transport considerations support successful development outcomes.

Eliot has worked across a wide range of development sectors, including residential, healthcare, education, commercial and energy projects.

Prior to joining Apex, Eliot spent six years as an Associate at one of the UK’s leading transport planning consultancies, based in Bristol and working on projects across the south of England and Wales.

Outside of work, Eliot enjoys spending time with his family, making the most of opportunities to walk, cycle and explore the outdoors.

He supports schemes from early feasibility through planning determination and post-consent stages, providing technical direction on Transport Assessments, access strategy, transport analysis and mitigation design.

Eliot works closely with clients and project teams to resolve technical challenges, applying sound professional judgement to navigate constraints and respond effectively to stakeholder concerns. Advice is tailored to the needs of each project, taking a pragmatic and proportionate approach to robustly support outline, full and reserved matters submissions, clearly aligned with planning policy and guidance. Eliot plays a key role in technical leadership within Apex, overseeing quality assurance and supporting the development of colleagues through mentoring and review.

Eliot places strong importance on clear communication, consistency and technical rigour, providing clients with confidence that transport matters are being addressed thoroughly and professionally throughout the planning process.
