About Annie Chapelton

Annie is a Principal Consultant at Apex Transport Planning with eight years’ experience providing transport planning advice across a wide range of projects throughout England and Wales.

She supports both public and private sector clients, offering clear, proportionate and policy-led advice through all stages of the planning process.

Annie advises on projects from early feasibility and masterplanning through planning application support, reserved matters and the discharge of planning conditions. Prior to joining Apex, she worked at a national multi-disciplinary consultancy as part of the South Wales and South West team, gaining valuable experience across both Welsh and English planning systems and policy frameworks.

She has extensive experience supporting planning applications through the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Construction Traffic Management Plans and Technical Notes.

Apex has given the opportunity to develop my career in a thriving team, as well as deliver the very best for our clients.

Outside of the office, I love to travel and do adventurous activities, and as a foodie, I particularly enjoy the bars and restaurants that Bristol has to offer.
Annie has also acted as Travel Plan Coordinator for a number of residential developments, managing Travel Plan monitoring and engagement to support long-term sustainable travel objectives.

Alongside her planning experience, Annie commissions and analyses traffic survey data and undertakes junction modelling and traffic impact assessments. She is experienced in advising on access, design and mitigation requirements, including junction design, swept path analysis and achieving suitable access for both motorised and non-motorised users. Annie also has a strong understanding of the Section 247 Stopping Up Order process and has successfully supported approvals.

Annie brings a positive, proactive and problem-solving approach to her work, and works closely with clients, local authorities and project teams to resolve transport issues and support successful planning outcomes. Clients value her clear communication and collaborative working style, and enjoy working with her throughout the planning process. She applies sound professional judgement to help schemes progress efficiently and with confidence.
