About Rob Parker

Rob is a Senior Civil Engineer at Apex Transport Planning with more than 12 years’ experience delivering highway and drainage infrastructure design across a wide range of development projects.

He combines strong technical knowledge with a practical approach to problem solving, helping clients overcome engineering challenges and progress schemes from feasibility through to construction and adoption.

Prior to joining Apex, Rob spent more than a decade working within private engineering consultancies, gaining experience across infrastructure and highway design teams. His work spans the residential, education, healthcare, aviation and commercial sectors, giving him a broad understanding of the engineering requirements associated with different development types.

Rob has extensive experience in detailed highway and drainage design, including highway works under Sections 38 and 278 of the Highways Act, drainage and SuDS strategies, and detailed drainage design for adoption under Section 104 of the Water Industry Act.

His expertise also includes plot engineering, site levels design and earthworks assessments. He has a strong understanding of the technical requirements of adopting authorities, helping clients navigate the approval process and progress their schemes efficiently.

Rob particularly values involvement at the early stages of a project, where identifying engineering constraints and adoption requirements can help shape development layouts and avoid costly redesign later in the process. He brings a thorough and practical approach to his work, applying sound engineering judgement and working closely with clients, transport planners and wider design teams to develop coordinated solutions that support successful development outcomes.
